I would prefer being buried alive. Think they would go for that?

It's more fun if it's a challenge.

Having played a werewolf, in a werewolf/vampire larp. Challenge is not the right word. Unbalanced might be the right word. It's like they didn't even try to balance the two races.
Werewolves have insane stats. Your only real hope to beat them without fleetness or puissance is to have dominate or presence (neither of which work while the beastie is in a frenzy).
No. Challenge isn't the word I would use to describe a fight between werewolves and vampires of equal stats. More like bloodbath.
The storyteller is right. We're fooked.

Re: You guys may be Fooked
Yeah they really did NOT balance the different LARP genres whatsoever. Tabletop is pretty unbalanced in some ways too. I'm unsure if nWoD is more balanced. It SEEMS so but as I've not played a cross-over I wouldn't know.
Yeah even with silver, in LARP werewolves are still tough. In tabletop Silver is unsoakable for them without gifts. They can probably spend rage to heal it too and get scars.

I've played straight up vampire, werewolf and a game that allowed limited cross over. If your trying to match a werewolf trait for trait your fighting a loosing battle. If your trying to match gift to discipline you may even be fighting a loosing battle. Clever use of disciplines, skills and what gadgetry is available serve to even the playing field some for those without win on ties. Vampires are more powerful then werewolf's after a given point level, werewolf's just start out beefy and get even nastier. Some Gangrel are more adept at dealing with shifters, as there's combo disciplines that can force a shifter back into there breed form. All comes down to having the right tools for the job.

You are absolutely right. Too bad that all of two of us, both Gangrel, might have the right tools for the job. As long as we don't all end up being minor characters in an aliens remake, it will be fun.

What's that? What? Vai's paranoia about werewolves wasn't unrealistic after all? Gee, imagine that.
You all just better pray I manage to kill them with gas.

Vai wasn't the only one paranoid about them. It's not just you, after that damn BSD I've been worried about em as well. I wonder if the Crystal Ice is a Pentex thing...might be dealing with Pentex and not the Sabbat or some funky Independent vamps.

Hehe. Most of my character's I've played happen to like Garou, with the exception of the Settite I played once upon a time. This particular character has fought with Garou against BSD and on some minor level Pentex. It's how he got to be accepted by a pack of them, marked and given his last name so he has no fear of this group of them. If only that lack of fear would translate over to success in battle.

Re: You guys may be Fooked
This is going to definetly going to be a challenge. With only two players with actual garou knowledge and have fought BSD's and wyrm creatures this battle is definetly going to get down to timing.

Re: You guys may be Fooked
Solomon hasn't gotten to do that. Did you have fun with the Banes? Vampires attract lots of Banes in the Umbra. I think we should seriously hit up some jewelry stores and steal all the silver, just get as much silver as we can. Need a bomb with silver nails or something. Silver Grenades, ect.

... Or you could buy silver off the internets. I'll bet Dave knows the site that I'm talking about! Silver shrapnel bomb things aren't a half bad idea. Someone with lore suggest it in character.

Re: You guys may be Fooked
The chances of a silver bomb of some sort working on an individual Garou are pretty high. The more of there number there are in a concentrated area the lower the chances that would work actually, kind of reverse logic I know, but the greater the number the better the chances of certian gifts and abilities that reduce the chances of that sort of attack succeeding unless it was complete suprise.
As for the Banes it wasn't too bad. Your attraction to banes is similar to how much wyrm taint you have. So taking into consideration that the game I was playing with at that time did take into account due to there connection with the Garou Gangrel test as if they were 1 trait higher on humanity when it comes to wyrm taint so I actually show as having virtually no taint. Of course there was also an elysium in the distance with a couple vamps actually on paths so the Bane's had better options to hang out with.

So Banes like those with lower humanity? And this is a bad thing? Because Banes are bad things?

A silver homemade explosive? That does have some possibility. I would sugest people get their hands on silver as quick as possible. I do have some.......but a homemade bouncing betty or a crude claymore sounds lovely at this junction.

getting ahold of the silver isn't what would be the difficult part. Someone with the skill to safely put the thing together and have it actually work could be more challenging.
On the issue of Banes... it's not as simple as good or bad and not a quick explanation. I'll do the best I can to condense it into a quick read. In garou terms a vampire possesses a touch of the wyrm and a big mark of the weaver, something garou can "smell" as it were and physically see a representation of in the Umbra. The mark of the weaver is tied into the fact vampires don't age anymore and are eternal and really has nothing to do with why a Bane will follow vampires. Now for why humanity makes a difference in this case. A vampire that has a high humanity rating go's unnoticed, doesn't make mortals feel uneasy around them and general doesn't corrupt or actively destroy and or pollute in there wake, all things that would account for wyrm taint. Alot of those things don't hold true to one level or another the further away from humanity you go and as such you develop what the garou refer to as wyrm taint. Banes feed off wyrm taint and use it to gain strength.
All of that being said as a vampire you will almost never come across a bane as all but the most powerful can not cross over. On the rare occasion a bane can cross over the umbra and inhabit someone, which results in a famori. I'm not sure if it's possible to inhabit a supernatural or if it's just really... really difficult as I've only ever seen mortals used as famori in games, basically results in something similar to a ghoul only with some very interesting abilities.
Oh ya and just in case, a bane is basically a generic wyrm spirit.

Hrmm.. that would have some potentially interesting effects. Wonder if the proximity of that much silver would keep them from stepping sideways the same way carrying too much can?
