Hello, my name is Rachele and I have a huge favor and some questions to ask.

I'm currently enrolled in a film making class at American River college and for one of our assignments we need to film some improv. I was wondering if we could maybe tag along at one of your LARP events and film. My friend and I that would be doing the filming have been fans of the LARP and RPG communities for a long time, and would love to have some great footage of what you guys/ladies do best.

We would plan on coming to your event, and just being ooc observers, filming a bit, and then after the RP is over just asking maybe a few of you for a one on one improv. session.

The deadline for our filming is next Wednesday 2/2/. So anytime before that where we could tag along at one of your events would be great.

My main concern would be that the two coming to do the filming are checked out in some way. I am open to letting someone film a session so long as they are considerate and are able to blend into the background as it were so it doesn't distract from the game.

I'd like to know we aren't going to be mocked or put up on YouTube or something.

Hi everyone this is Rachele..You know the girl that wants to film you guys/girls :3

If you all want cookies, we'll bring cookies...If you need me to bring a print out of my class schedule to prove to everyone that I am in the class, I will. My professor didn't give us a print out of this certain assignment, but I'm pretty sure I could just drop him an email and I could show you that as well.

This assignment is actually a 3 part assignment:
1) Film 1-3 people talking
2) Film 1-3 people improv.
3) Film 1-3 people reading from a 15 line script.

We are using our friends in the first and third part, but we just thought it would be cool to film some people we didn't know, and that we thought we be experts on improv.

Also this is one of our first film projects, in no way shape or form would we be uploading it onto youtube. If anything(with your permission) I would be uploading the entire 3 parts onto my facebook. We would never mock anyone for doing something they are dedicated to, but I also understand why you wouldn't want to me mocked or made fun of. That's never fun, and we would never want to put any of you in a position like that. Also, if only some of you want to be filmed; we will only film the ones that are willing.

If anyone wants a copy of the final project, or just the part we film of the LARP(if you allow us to film) that would be no problem for us whatsoever.

We might, depends on how much we like the type of rp that's going on. We are always willing to try new things.

Heyo, my name's Charissa. I'd be the second lady to the film project. I vote yes on this poll, because there's no way this is a bad idea.

I'm excited to meet you guys and be able to do this film project. It's unique and interesting (to me at least ) and yeah! Let's do it!! I hope you guys vote yes too, so Rachele and I can be seeing you all shortly.

So it seems 2 of the 5 yes votes are actually non players? So really only 3 actual players have said yes?

I am going to vote yes to this. My main concern is only that we gamers are not portrayed in the typical light shone on our subculture.

Since it's looking like the filming is going to be allowed I'm thinking the person(s) who don't want to be filmed get in touch with one or both of the st crew so arrangements can be made. It sounds like enough people are willing that the required filming can be achieved without making anyone uncomfortable with it take part.

Agreed, Ryan. Please if you wish not to be included get in touch with Jason.

Sounds like we'll be filming this weekend. I look forward to it, but will not sign a model consent form (or whatever the film equivalent is), video of adults used for educational purposes does not require one.

I think you'll find that you require more than a few minutes of filming for us to lose our self-conciousness and really get into character, so I hope you will be around for quite some time.

I'm still limping and kinda gimpy. Was thinking of giving game a shot this weekend, because I managed yard work fine today, but I'd rather my 'I broke my toe because I'm a fucking moron' state not be immortalized on film forevermore. If filming will be done this weekend, I'd appreciate a heads-up.

Sam is right, BTW. I was asked to do this years ago with a different LARP, and they didn't give us nearly enough time to lose our nervousness about/awareness of the cameras and fall into character, so the result ended up being pretty awkward.

I'll call Rachele tomorrow after I get off work at 4:30 to go over the details for Saturday's game. My only concern is attendance has been down, and Ryan has already informed me he can't make it this Saturday.

Ok well if the filming is really going to take place, can someone please call or text me the directions and what time it starts? Anyone who doesn't want to be filmed can just let us know before we start filming, and you won't be included in the actual film.
