Character Journals? Empty Character Journals?

What do people and ST think of character journals? A totally IC journal a PC may have (That only staff and perhaps other players totally OOC could see) with their thoughts on events and things for the staff to read to get more insight into the PCs mind? I've heard they help with RPing the PC and it's also a cool time wasting activity.

I prefer not to know out of character what's going on with other player characters. That way, if I work something out that they're up to, I know that I wasn't using out of character knowledge.

Plus, it spoils the sense of discovery of slowly getting to know other characters in game.

I say have at. It'll help you see your character's progression along the way, and see how the character grows as a person.

Yar, journals are for ST's to read only...
