Gratitude Empty Gratitude

Thank you for running tonight Jason. Staying up til 2 AM, and giving that personal touch to the end of the story, even though it dragged the ending out a lot made me feel really involved with the way things turned out. I hope that Raven doesn't regret his decision to go.

Well...Raven survived due to the Giovanni's assistance, I don't think he'd be with us today if not for their help.

As to the event at the end. Yeah I felt bad for a while about taking away the players free will. It's usually a big "DO NOT DO THIS EVER" kind of thing. You can beat a character, burn em, kill em, but taking away their free will to choose is something no story teller should ever do without one hell of a good reason.

I was pretty apprehensive about my decision to do so, and it's not going to be a common occurrence.

Yeah but it was fun! I almost staked Raven multiple times and taking the stake out of Delacourt's chest to try and stake Raven with it was awesome! And then actually thinking about, "Well doesnt this elevator have a emergency stop button?" And who the hell says gargoyles are dumb? No one else thought of it! I also unstaked Marius.

I don't think that it's really taking away free will when a legitimate reason/power is being used. It's railroading if you're like 'You try to do X and fail. No reason, you just do.' But if there's something that's actually preventing success, that's another matter.

I mean, there are a lot of powers in WoD that take away a character's free will. Player characters get to use them. No reason why NPCs shouldn't.

Yeah. Dominate takes away free will and it's pretty powerful, at least in Tabletop it's really powerful. No retests in TT at all!

It was fun and I was very glad to get you all back up to the main level again with as little damage as I could do. I t had me sweating for awhile. Don't think I want to take on four players at once agian in those types of close courters again with the limits involved.
